Warranty Costs Head Down
The IndustryWeek Best Plants competition asks participants to share their warranty costs to the degree possible. In many instances, warranty costs are not calculated at the plant level, so participation in this question is not robust. However, among IW Best Plants winners and finalists that do calculate warranty costs, the average three-year reduction among 2013 participants was 21.5%, and the median was the same. At least one respondent reported a 67% increase in that year.
