Internal Pull Systems

As the accompanying table indicates, nearly all of IndustryWeek's Best Plants winners and finalists employ internal pull systems with kanban signals, including all of the 2011 winners and finalists. If employed correctly, one benefit of internal pull systems is reduced bottlenecks, resulting in less WIP inventory.
